WE'RE STILL HERE

Hi everybody! As promised here is our update for June, I know you didn't think I would leave you hanging. Well as I am sure you realize Verb Radio is still down for repairs which is a good thing because when we come back everything and I mean EVERYTHING will be brand new (except the host of course--smile). New music, new programming and maybe even a few new guest hosts so keep watching here and here for the latest news and updates.

COMING SOON: The Verb's Tuesday Tuneup on YouTube! Keep watching for more details!

Well we are still on the grind getting Written's CD If Hip Hop Spoke out to the masses. I hope that everyone reading this has signed up for the mailing list and or street team. If you haven't because you just didn't find the time why not do it while you're here? Everything you need is in the sidebar...isn't that convenient?

I hear a lot of people complaining about the quality of music on the radio and being tired of hearing the same old crap. Truth is there is an abundance of great music put there, the problem is lack of support. If we don't support the independent artists their work will never be heard in the mainstream. So--how do you show your support? Glad you asked. First join their mailing lists and street teams then get your friends, mothers, fathers, dogs and cats to join and then they get their...well you get the idea. You never have to buy a CD to promote an indie artist but you do have to show there are people out there who want to hear their music.

Once you join a street team or fan page don't just sit there and do nothing. Add the artists music widgets to your page, if they are coming to perform in your area support them and most of all call radio stations and tell them you want to hear them on the air. You can control the music that gets promoted but you have to do your part as a fan.

AND SO IT IS WRITTEN

Written's new monthly blog is here! Share his insights, passions rants and raves at www.writtenrapgod.com
Here is a sample of what you can expect:

What it do! For those who do not know me I am Written.

First, let me thank L. Marrie for all of her hard work in getting my music out. Thank you and keep doing what you do baby!

That being said, If Hip Hop Spoke is my brain, soul and music child. To me it fills the void that both mainstream and underground hip hop have forgotten. On this album I talk about the struggle of the streets and how hard it can be in the inner city. I also talk about the positive urge that we all have to move on in the face of adversity and I do my best to talk about the love and hate we all face in this world. I do my damndest to bring hip hops essence back to the battle rap days where lyrical ability took the forefront over hype.
I truly love Hip Hop.

A lot of people say that my baby is in a state of emergency, I say hip hop is an ever changing cultural phenomenon that keeps its cultural integrity and makes itself known...
