MEL-O INTERVIEW TONIGHT

MEL-O- No More

Hot southern charm and a Houston-bred smile... Mel-O is gonna make you sweat. No stranger to pressure, Mel-O's first curtain call came when her second-grade teacher gave her a choice: Sing or Detention. Not only did her version of Mary J. Blige's "I'm Going Down" save her from punishment, it caught the attention of her classmates and several teachers. Little Melissa Owens brought down the house and Mel-O was discovered. After her days of playground concerts & charming her way out of detention, Mel-O moved on to attend Johnston Performing Arts Middle School. Johnston Middle School has educated many prominent artists including another young starlet by the name of Beyonce. After graduating high school, Mel-O travelled to Los Angeles to pursue her dream. She studied audio engineering at Pasadena City College until tragedy struck when her grandfather & sole provider passed away. Mel-O was forced to drop out of school and support herself. Faced with some hard decisions, Mel-O decided to remain in Los Angeles. She continued pitching her songs while writing for other artists. Currently, Mel-O is working on her debut album. Her determination brings her to the next level... her charm brings her into the heart's of listeners.
